چکیده
This implies that in this case n2r is the kernel of the natural homomorphism of 7r2 into the 2-dimensional integral homology group of X. Comparing this with recent results of Hopf5 yields numerous examples of spaces with k3 $ 0. 5. Generalizations.-1°: The construction of k3 generalizes in an obvious fashion to yield a cohomology class kn+1 e Hn+l(irj, 7r,,), provided that 7ri = 0 for 1 < i < n. Theorems 1 and 2 generalize accordingly. 20: Assuming 7r3 = , the groups H3(X, G) may be expressed by means of 7ri, 7r2 and k3. The algebraic constructions involved are quite cumbersome. 30: If ir, acts as a group of operators on G, and H2(X, G) denotes the cohomology group of X with G as local coefficients,6 Theorem 2 is still valid provided that (3.4) is replaced by g2(wa) = wg2(a). 40: Instead of working in the space X itself, as above, one could use the universal covering space X of X and regard 7r1 as a group of operators on X. In this approach homotopy arguments are replaced by homology arguments, and some additional generality is gained. This approach will be used in the full exposition elsewhere of the results.

Using Symmetry to Count Rational Curves
The recent “close encounter” between enumerative algebraic geometry and theoretical physics has resulted in many new applications and new techniques for counting algebraic curves on a complex projective manifold. For example, string theorists demonstrated that generating functions built from counting curves can have completely unexpected relationships with other geometric constructions, via mir...
متن کاملCoefficient Bounds for Analytic bi-Bazileviv{c} Functions Related to Shell-like Curves Connected with Fibonacci Numbers
In this paper, we define and investigate a new class of bi-Bazilevic functions related to shell-like curves connected with Fibonacci numbers. Furthermore, we find estimates of first two coefficients of functions belonging to this class. Also, we give the Fekete-Szegoinequality for this function class.
متن کاملAn Optimal G^2-Hermite Interpolation by Rational Cubic Bézier Curves
In this paper, we study a geometric G^2 Hermite interpolation by planar rational cubic Bézier curves. Two data points, two tangent vectors and two signed curvatures interpolated per each rational segment. We give the necessary and the sufficient intrinsic geometric conditions for two C^2 parametric curves to be connected with G2 continuity. Locally, the free parameters w...
متن کاملCOUPLED FIXED POINT THEOREMS FOR RATIONAL TYPE CONTRACTIONS VIA C-CLASS FUNCTIONS
In this paper, by using C-class functions, we will present a coupled xed problem in b-metric space for the single-valued operators satisfying a generalized contraction condition. First part of the paper is related to some xed point theorems, the second part presents the uniqueness and existence for the solution of the coupled xed point problem and in the third part we...
متن کاملFactors Related to Women\'s Fertility Intent: A Study Based on the Theory of Rational Action
Introduction: Over the past few decades, we have seen a major decline in fertility in Iran and in the world. A wide range of social, economic and personality factors, including delayed marriage, fertility behavior, educational and economic goals have affected fertility intent. The rational action theory that determines the relationship among attitude, intent and behavior can be used to explain ...
متن کاملVariational design of rational Bezier curves and surfaces
The design of curves and surfaces in C.A.D. systems has many applications in car, plane or ship industry. Because they offer more flexibility, rational functions are often prefered to polynomial functions to modelize curves and surfaces. In this work, several methods to generate rational Bezier curves and surfaces which minimize some functionals are proposed. The functionals measure a technical...
